An eventful history

1901

The Rigiviertel cableway and the Hotel and Kurhaus Rigiblick are opened. However, the 30 beds are frequently empty, and there are no glamorous evening events.

1914

The «Frauenverein für alkoholfreie Wirtschaften» (Women’s Association of Alcohol-Free Inns) purchases the debt-ridden Rigiblick and turns it into a popular panorama restaurant.

1976

As the result of financial problems, the city of Zurich purchases the Rigiblick, but hands its management over to the women’s association once more. The popular excursion restaurant with modest prices remains open to the public.

2002

ZFV Group – the Zurich women’s association has now changed its name – buys the Rigiblick back from the city of Zurich and turns it into an Aparthotel with a gourmet restaurant. The building is restored at great expense by the architects Burckhalter/Sumi. Lucia and Felix Eppisser are engaged as hosts.

2010

After eight successful years, Lucia and Felix Eppisser leave the Rigiblick. Julia and Christian Nickel, a young and dynamic brother and sister team, take on the role of hosts.

2012

Dennis Puchert succeeds Christian Nickel as head chef. Christian Gujan as Manager and Diana Becker as Assistant Manager take over the role as host from Julia Nickel. Once again the ZFV Group are donned with young, talented junior employees.
